Creativity, Activity and Service

CAS – Creativity, Activity and Service is an integral component and the life line of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Click here for the current ISH CAS calendar and deadlines.

CAS enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning. At the same time, it provides an important counterbalance to the academic pressures of the rest of the Diploma Programme. The engagement with CAS felicitates a personal journey of self‑discovery. Each individual student has a different goal and need and CAS helps them to gain such experience that are profound and life‑changing.

CAS has been integrated into the ISH Middle and High School curriculum  through After School Activities, offering students the viability to engage in activities related to all the three components. ISH is working in collaboration with IACD  (ICRISAT Association for Community Development)  connecting with the local community exploring and exchanging the expertise. While contributing to the  collaborative projects, the students will have enhanced their abilities as risk takers, be aware of themselves as members of communities with responsibilities towards each other and the immediate environment.

The CAS Committee at ISH which is an advisory body of students from Grade 6 to 12, works towards the development of various projects such as raising funds for supporting programmes at IACD , setting up a CAS Online Reporting System for the CAS outside the school, Going Green through collection of papers for recycling etc.,

When CAS be treated as a way of life, it prepares individuals  who would be active participants of significant global issues through their involvement with the issues around them now, contributing in their own small way  towards the larger issues.
