ISH follows a rolling admissions policy, allowing students to apply and join at any point during the academic year. Our Admissions Office is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and remains available throughout the year except on public and school holidays. Grade Placement at ISH

Students must meet the minimum age requirements as of August 31. Admission also requires successful completion of the previous grade or its academic equivalent (Grades 1–12), generally corresponding to the following minimum ages:

Students more than one year older or younger than the expected age for a grade level will not generally be considered for admission into that grade level, though final placement decisions rest with the Admissions Committee.

Applicants come from diverse school systems and calendars, admissions team reviews each student’s age, records and academic history to determine placement according to ISH’s curriculum and expectations.

Applicants from schools that follow the southern hemisphere calendar (January/April to November/March, e.g., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, Singapore, Japan, Korea) should apply to the grade level that matches their current school year. Students seeking August enrollment should apply to the grade they are presently attending, while those seeking January enrollment should apply to the grade they are completing or have just finished.

How it Works: Applying in Five Easy Steps

Step 1: Inquire and Visit

Begin by filling out the inquiry form and visiting the campus.
Learn more about the curriculum, facilities and community.

Step 2: Apply

Applications to ISH are submitted online through this link.
You will be asked to create a password so that you can log in. Within the online application system, you must follow these 6 steps:

Complete the online application form. Please make sure you fill in the information on all the fields in the various forms on the application.
Upload school reports from the past two years (and English translations where applicable). High school applicants must include transcripts from grade 9. All school reports should be collated into one single PDF file.
*For students diagnosed with learning support or special education needs: upload psycho-educational reports and ILPs/IEPs (and English translations where applicable).
Upload a copy of the applicant’s and parent's passport, and Indian visa if the applicant is not an Indian citizen.
Upload a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate and applicant’s immunization record.
Send the Admissions Character Reference form to the Curriculum Leader/Coordinator/Head of Department/Principal of the current school of the child to fill this form. This is done within the online application process where you will find instructions.
Inform the ISH admissions office of the completion of the application via an email to [email protected]

Step 3: Pay the registration Fee

You will be prompted to pay the one-time non-refundable registration fee.

Step 4: Admissions meeting and review

An admissions meeting will be scheduled with the divisional principals and counsellor. Following which the admissions committee which comprises of the divisional principals, counsellor, admissions director and Head of School will review the application, and meet the applicant and the family.

Step 5: Admissions Decision

The admissions committee makes the final decision on acceptance. The admissions team will inform you of the decision via an official email and if your child has been accepted, you will be asked to pay the enrolment fee within 7 working days.

ISH is a not-for-profit educational institution. This ensures that fees contribute directly to your child's education. Our serene campus provides an ideal environment for learning. The school's operational expenses are sustained through tuition fees, which are determined annually by the School Board.

What is included in the ISH Tuition Fees?

The International School of Hyderabad is a not-for-profit school. Revenues are generated through tuition and related fees. Our fees is inclusive of:

Frequent Parent Questions

When should I submit an application for admission?

ISH accepts applications for admission throughout the year on a rolling basis. While there are no set application deadlines, it is always best to get in touch with the Office of Admission as early as possible, especially for those planning a relocation to Hyderabad. The school year runs from mid-August through mid-June.

What is the class size at ISH?

This can vary across classrooms and grade levels but generally, there are no more than 24 students in a classroom, with the typical number of students ranging from 12 to 22.

My child has specific learning needs. How do I know whether these will be met?

ISH’s Student Support Services offer support in varied forms of ELL, Inclusion, and Counseling. To support and enhance the differentiated instruction that goes on in the regular classroom, the Inclusion team works with a limited number of students with special educational needs to support them with their challenges. To ensure we are able to offer an appropriate program and place for your child, depending upon our available resources, we encourage you to submit all relevant information in the application.

Are meals available for purchase at school?

ISH offers a school meal plan which is available for semester sign-ups. All students availing of the school meal are provided with snacks and lunch. We do not provide prorated or daily signups.

Do you have boarding facilities?

We do not have a hostel or boarding facility. ISH is a day school.

What are the school hours?

School functions from Monday to Friday. School timings are as below:
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 8.00 am to 3.00 pm
Wednesday: 8.00 am to 1.30 pm

After school clubs are available to be enrolled on choice. For students availing ASA, stay for an additional hour. Transportation is available at 3 pm and 4 pm (Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri) and at 1.30 pm and 3 pm on Wednesday.

How does my child get to and from school?

The ISH bus service remains the most popular and recommended mode of transport for our students traveling between home and school each day. A number of students use private transportation and are dropped off and picked up by their parents.

Are there school uniforms?

ISH does not have a school uniform. Students are expected to follow the ISH Dress Code that helps maintain a positive learning environment and respect for all cultures and people in our ISH community. ISH students are expected to be appropriately dressed when on campus and when representing ISH off campus. There is a required student uniform for Physical Education classes provided by the school in grades K-12.

Does ISH have a waiting list?

ISH is home to a vibrant international community, and families often relocate during the school year for professional reasons. As a result, mid‑year departures are fairly common.

When a place opens in a particular grade, we review all applications currently on the waiting list and apply our admissions criteria once again. This ensures that the available spot is offered to the most suitable candidate.

Is financial aid available?

ISH does not offer financial aid or scholarships.

Does my child need to start at the beginning of the school year?

Students may join ISH at any time during the academic year. Once the admissions process is complete and a place has been offered, your child can begin soon after. In collaboration with the family, a suitable start date will be agreed upon, subject to approval by the admissions committee.
