Internet-World Wide Net
The purpose of Internet use in school is to raise educational standards and to promote pupil achievement. Internet use is a part of the statutory curriculum and a necessary tool for all students. Internet access is an entitlement for students who show a responsible and mature approach to its use.
At ISH, we understand that the Internet and the flexibility of on-line learning offer important opportunities to enhance the education of our students.
The use of the Internet in school aims to offer ISH students a set of activities that allows them to demonstrate what they know and understand about using communication technologies in relation to the knowledge, skills and understanding set out in the school’s curriculum. We believe that curriculum based Internet use should be planned, task-orientated and educational within a regulated and managed environment.
Students will be taught what is acceptable and what is not acceptable and given clear objectives for Internet use.
Internet access will be planned to enrich and extend learning activities. Access levels will be reviewed to reflect the curriculum requirements and age of students.
Students will be educated in thee effective use of the Internet in relation to research.
