International School of Hyderabad

Holidays

The School has two extended holiday periods and the dates are published well in advance of the start of the school year. To ensure effective continuation of studies and to ease the burden on the students and staff we ask that parents to review these dates before making their holiday bookings.  There are also two short mid-session breaks, usually in October and April.

If students know in advance of any likely absence they should make it a priority to collect and, if possible, complete work set by teachers before departure from school.  Attendance is part of the graduation requirements and students may fail the year if they are absent for more than 18 days in any school year. Our courses tend to be structured in such a way that one topic builds on work studied in the previous one. This means that students, even if they miss only a few lessons, can quickly fall behind in some subject areas.

Fixed holidays are Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday (October 2nd), the Indian Republic Day (January 26th) and Mayday (May 1st). Other religious and public holidays will be announced once the dates are made public.
